Cara Palavra

Directing - Playwriting

Created and presented during the COVID-19 pandemic, the online performance “Cara Palavra” was a poetic performance soirée that explored daily life, love, drama, art, loneliness, and reinvention in times of pandemic, woven together through a kaleidoscopic flow of poetry. The show was written and directed by Pedro Bricio, in collaboration with actresses Andreia Horta, Bianca Comparato, Débora Falabella, and Mariana Ximenes.

The production interwove poems by contemporary Brazilian female poets, biographical texts, song excerpts, political speeches, sonnets, medication labels, and fictional scenes. The performance took place in a hybrid and entirely remote format, with the actresses using their own homes as the setting. Each session of the digital show featured a guest contemporary Brazilian poet who joined the performance.
