Pedro Brício studied Cinema at the Federal Fluminense University and earned a Master’s degree in Theater from Uni-Rio. He trained at the Desmond Jones School of Mime (London), the Scuola Internazionale dell’Attore Comico (Italy), and the École Philippe Gaulier (London). He wrote and directed the musicals “Icaro and the Black Stars”, “Show em Simonal”, and “É o Amor”. He also wrote and directed the plays “Sonhos de uma Noite com o Galpão”, “Cara Palavra”, “O Condomínio”, “Me Salve, Musical!”, “Trabalhos de Amores Quase Perdidos”, “Cine-Teatro Limite”, “A Incrível Confeitaria do Sr. Pellica”, and “King Kong Fran” (in collaboration with Rafa Azevedo). He is the author of “Nastácia”, “Breu”, “Comédia Russa”, and “O Menino que Vendia Palavras”—productions directed, respectively, by Miwa Yanagisawa, João Fonseca, and Cristina Moura. He has received some of the country’s most prestigious awards for his work, including the Shell, Questão de Crítica, Contigo, and APCA awards. His texts have been translated into English, Spanish, and German. He has participated in the Frankfurt Book Fair, the Contemporary Playwriting Week in Guadalajara, and the “Una Mirada al Mundo” showcase at the Centro Dramático Nacional in Madrid. As a director, he has staged works by Samuel Beckett, Edward Albee, Rafael Spregelburd, Patricia Melo, and Hilda Hilst.
