Pedro Bricio is a playwright, director, and actor.

Over the past 20 years, he has distinguished himself as one of the brazilian’s most prominent playwrights, receiving numerous awards.

He wrote and directed the plays “O Condomínio,” “Me salve, musical!,” “Trabalhos de amores quase perdidos,” “Cine-Teatro Limite,” “A Incrível Confeitaria do Sr. Pellica,” “Sonhos de uma noite com o Galpão,” and “King Kong Fran” (in collaboration with Rafa Azevedo), among others. He is the author of “An orchard for Chekhov,” “Nastácia,” “Breu,” and “Russian Comedy.” He directed the musicals “Vale tudo—Tim Maia,” “Vital—The Paralamas Musical,” “Icaro and the Black Stars,” and “Simbora—The Story of Wilson Simonal.” As a director, in addition to his own works, he has staged plays by Samuel Beckett, Edward Albee, Rafael Spregelburd, Patricia Melo, and Hilda Hilst.

Pedro Brício holds a bachelor’s degree in Film from the Universidade Federal Fluminense and a master’s degree in Theater from Uni-Rio. He studied at the Desmond Jones School of Mime, the École Philippe Gaulier, and the Scuola Internazionale dell’attore Comico.

He has received some of the country’s most prestigious awards for his work, including the Shell Award, the Questão de Crítica Award, the Contigo Award, and the APCA Award. His works have been translated into English, Spanish, and German. He has participated in the Frankfurt International Book Fair, the Week of Contemporary Drama in Guadalajara, and the “Una mirada al mundo” exhibition at the National Drama Center in Madrid.
