“The Pereira Sisters,” the latest play by award-winning author Pedro Bricio and starring Guida Vianna, tells the story of three sisters who gather to decide where to scatter their mother’s ashes—she died over a year ago. Aged between 60 and 70 and with intense personalities, Glória (Guida Vianna), Edna (Clarisse Derzier), and Dulce (Raquel Rocha) reminisce about the past and confess their urgent desires for the present, such as work, sex, art, artificial intelligence, and faith.
Excerpts from Reviews
“At a time when quality comedies have become increasingly rare on the Brazilian scene, *Irmãs Pereira* reminds us that making people laugh intelligently remains one of theater’s most difficult and noble tasks. The humor stems from a keen observation of human relationships, the little misunderstandings, and the contradictions that are part of any family.”
Claudia Chaves / Veja Rio“The performances by Guida, Clarisse, and Raquel overflow with energy in this vibrant production, which only reaffirms Brício’s strength as a creator.”
